The Temple of Television

As a child during the Fifties, I well remember the entry of television in our family's life. Of course, in those days, the TV was usually a piece of fine furniture that replaced the upright wooden radio in the living room.

Ads from those days show families crowded around the tiny screens, mesmerized by the flickering images being brought directly into their homes.
